Is it possible to get the best protection from the sun?

For all of us who are planning vacation(!), on the beach or in the mountains, or just like to walk the streets of our favorite city in the park or in the countryside... So for all of us there is something in common! Sun protection. That we should never ignore it, now more than ever. So below you will find some tips to choose the right sunscreen.

What is the right protection for me?

We have selected from various brands of sunscreen, all certified according to the highest international standards and certified with ECOCERT. You know that all natural sunscreens use only natural minerals as ingredients, such as titanium dioxide and zinc oxide.

So these two mineral filters provide adequate protection from the sun's rays. In the past, natural protection creams were a bit thicker and ended up leaving an almost transparent white veil on the skin and sometimes cost a little more. Now their formulas are becoming more and more advanced, so they are easy to apply without leaving the skin white, as they are more transparent - without containing nanoparticles - but just as effective.

The Oxybenzone and octinoxate (complex photosensitive organic compounds) Contained in conventional sunscreens mainly, they are toxic and harmful to our health and disrupt the balance and function of the body's endocrine system. Also, they are not biodegradable and pollute the water. This year, Hawaii will be the first state in the United States to ban sunscreens with these ingredients, the two most common sunscreens used by major cosmetic brands. Well ... this, in addition to being extremely toxic to your body, causes the temperature of the water in the oceans to rise and turns coral reefs into whites, making them inactive and destroying all the marine biodiversity around them. All this damage is more intense on the shores that are (really) plagued by vacationers.

Using a good sunscreen is essential to avoid the dangers of the sun, so you should choose the sunscreen that works best for you and that respects your body and our natural environment.

We suggest you choose friendly sunscreens with natural filters that are less harmful.

Note on Choosing a friendly sunscreen:

1º- Do not use sunscreens with oxybenzone

2º- not use sunscreen with octinoxate

3º- not use sunscreen with octocrylene

4º- completely avoid metal filters containing nanoparticles and react with sunlight, producing a very harmful substance for the aquatic environment, hydrogen peroxide.

we Arewondering if a sunscreen with SPF30 would be enough?

SPF means: protection factor sun

The SPF30 filters 95% of UV rays,the SPF50 protectsmost only 3%, reaching 98% protection.

That's why it's important to know that using a high protection index doesn't mean you should use sunscreen less often. In other words, whenever you are exposed to sunlight, you should apply the cream to your skin regularly, whether you are swimming on the beach, in the pool, or if you are in the mountains.

The tests performed in the laboratories to determine the protection factors are performed on 1 square centimeter of skin and apply radiation for a certain period of time. For this reason, laboratory conditions are far from reality, so it is very important to apply the cream often enough so that it does not cause injuries and burns to your skin. For children, protection 50 is always recommended, always prefer shade or clothes to significantly reduce their exposure time. It is very important not to confuse that theindicator SPF corresponds to the time we can be exposed to the sun. The SPF inform us about the number of times the sun increases the defense capacity of our skin against the UVA / UVB rays that do not cause the typical redness, which occurred when indicating that we have not protected properly. For example, SPF30 indicates that the level of protection against the risk of burns would be 30 times higher if you did not use protection.

Do you know that the sun is necessary? It helps you to have a good body function.

It is always recommended to 'train' your skin before the summer arrives when the exposure is greater.

It is a good idea to expose yourself for 10 minutes in the early hours of the morning or afternoon daily so that your cells are properly trained to prepare the skin's melanin in the right natural way.

In Mediterranean countries such as Italy, Spain, Greece, there is a study that shows that the citizens of these countries have a deficiency of vitamin 'D', which is strange, as they are areas with many hours of sunshine.

That's why you need to know when you can go out without any protection.

There are some rays that you have definitely heard about, UV rays. These rays are the cause of premature skin aging, so all sunscreens should protect you from UVA and UVB rays. It is very important that both types are mentioned on the labels.

If you are one of those who prefer the mountain, you should not underestimate the effect of sunlight.

Whether it's spring or fall and you're one of those people who loves hiking and you think it's less hot because you're in a landscape full of vegetation, with colors that surprise you you have to learn that all this is due to our favorite sun and its action. Like I said if you are on the mountain you will be altitude above sea level, which means that the action of the sun is more immediate. On the other hand, snow also reflects radiation like a mirror, so you need to use adequate sun protection.

If you are one of those who do not 'understand' holidays without being close to the sea, you should not neglect your physical protection even if your desire is tanning. The sand or water of the sea or pool also acts as mirrors that reflect all this radiation on the skin much more the simple walk on the beach.

If you are an urban type, you should know that asphalt also works as a reflector, so you should always protect your face. 15 minutes before you leave the house, or from this wonderful hotel, use a protective cream and a hat, after all it is never unnecessary.

We must be responsible and pay special attention to enjoying the sun with health and avoiding the hours of greatest solar radiation, from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m.

Keep these tips for your tan, for a simple walk on the beach, on the mountain or in the city.

If you apply common sense, you do not run any risk and of course you do not speed up photoaging or the formation of premature wrinkles on your skin.
